A T - S I X - F L A G S - N E W - E N G L A N D

This page contains answers to frequently asked questions about Out In The Park At Six Flags New England. If you do not find an answer to your question, please email us at info at outinthepark.project100.org, and we will do our best to answer your questions..
Q: What is Out In The Park?

A: Out In The Park At Six Flags New England is a Gay Day event organized by Out In The Park, a program of
Project 100, Inc. / The Hartford Community Center, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Out In The Park, the organization, is a dedicated group of unity-minded people that are interested in creating events that are fun, all-ages, social opportunities for the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, Intersex and Allies community to Get OUT with their friends and family.

Out In The Park At Six Flags New England, is one of many Get OUT events that we plan and organize as Gay Day style events, which are open to the public. Out In The Park At Six Flags New England, really is the biggest Gay Day at New England's biggest amusement park. This event is specifically organized as an all ages, fun, social event and as a warmup event for National Coming Out Day (celebrated on October 11th each year).

Q: Is this a family event?

A: Yes. Out In The Park At Six Flags New England, is an all ages, fun social event for the GLBTQIS community. We will be adhering to
Six Flags New England's Park Policies the day of our event. This means no lewd behavior or costumes, and all the entertainment provided by Out In The Park performers will be family friendly, as will the behavior of the staff and entertainment. Top

Q: What should I wear?

A: Gay Apparel is Optional.
But, since this is a Gay Day, and there will be thousands of other gay people wearing something GAY, why not dress for the occasion?
Be Seen, Wear RED!
Can't decide what to wear?
Red is simply not your color?

Q: Can I dress up? In drag?

A: Yes, if you choose to, that is your option. Everyone must keep in mind that we will be adhering to
Six Flags New England's Park Policies the day of our event.

It is important to keep in mind that there is only ONE permanent "Family / Unisex / Handicap Accessible" restroom in the park. We are working on plans to provide a second restroom of this type in the River's Edge Picnic Grove during the festival.

Be forewarned, if you are in drag, park security may ask you to use a different restroom.
Remember, this is a family-oriented, all ages event.

Clothing with inappropriate words, phrases or graphics are prohibited. Shoes and shirts must be worn at all times while in the Theme Park. No inappropriate clothing will be permitted (so, leave your G-string and fishnet shorts at home). All clothing is subject to management review and discretion.

If you are up to wearing heels, make-up and a wig while riding the amusement rides, by all means, go right ahead. BUT, remember, if something falls off while you are on a ride, you will have to wait until after the park closes in order to retrieve your lost or missing items. We would recommend that everyone dress comfortably, as this is a fun, casual event.

Though, if you do decide to dress up, we're sure that someone will want to take your picture!

Q: I am disabled, is the Six Flags New England amusement park accessible?

A: Six Flags New England's park is quite accessible by wheelchair, though not all rides are able to accommodate a wheelchair up to the point where you get on the ride. We would recommend reviewing the
Six Flags New England Guest Services Information, and specifically, the GUESTS WITH DISABILITIES section.

Six Flags New England does have a special printed brochure that should answer most of your questions. Please call the park at 413-786-9300 and request the "Guide to fun at the Park for Guests with Disabilities" brochure.
Top

Q: What about hotels, lodging and transportation?

A: Transportation is the responsibility of the attending guests, but Six Flags New England does have a wide array of parking options that can accommodate everything from passenger cars to large tour buses.

We are currently researching a hotel/lodging sponsors, but until then, a list of hotels that specifically partner with Six Flags to offer special deals and packages can be viewed on the Six Flags New England website
