Our mission...
Out In The Park is a Gay Day event organized by a nonprofit organization. We are a dedicated group of unity-minded people that are interested in creating events that are fun, all-ages, social opportunities for the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, Intersex and Allies community to Get OUT with their friends and family.

The events that we plan and organize are warm-up events to National Coming Out Day on October 11th.Our first event, Out In The Park, was held on Saturday, September 27, 1997, at what was then known as Riverside Park (now Six Flags New England). The focus of the events we plan and organize, is to foster a sense of pride, dignity and unity among the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning and intersex community and their allies through social and cultural events to promote diversity, visibility, awareness and acceptance throughout the New England region.

Since 1997, we have continued to plan and organize not only a Gay Day at Six Flags New England, but based on attendees' requests, have added other "Gay Days" at a variety of locations throughout the New England area. All of these events are held in public venues and are open to the public. The emphasis is always on fun, all-ages, social events.

In 2004, Out In The Park will celebrate it's 8th year as THE Gay Day in New England, and the 2nd year as the OFFICIAL Gay Day at Six Flags New England!Only this year, we begin to take Out In The Park to a whole new level, as we hold our first festival in the 10 acre River's Edge Picnic Grove, with GLBT entertainers and vendors from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM.Park open 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

SEASON PASS HOLDERS
Season Pass holders will be able to attend Out In The Park! Just use your Season Pass, but be sure you tell them you are specifically attending Out In The Park!

What To Wear?
Be Seen, Wear RED!
This will be the third year we have decided to go with a "color" (like they do at Gay and Lesbian Day at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom).
We figure, Hey, Red IS visible, so, be seen this year, wear something RED!
If red is simply not your color, then wear something GAY and BE PROUD!

Gay Apparel Is Optional!

Where
Do I Meet
Everyone?

Try going to the 10 acre River's Edge Picnic Grove. In 2004 we will be hosting a Festival from 3:00pm to 8:00pm with GLBT entertainers and vendors!

If you get lost or separated from your friends and family while in the park, the best place to wait for them (and watch lots of people go by), is the Gazebo on Main Street. The Gazebo is located at the main intersection of the entire park (near SCREAM, the tallest white tower with the flags on top).

Everyone has to go by the Gazebo to get to any other section of the park. There are lots of food vendors close by too, so you won't starve while you are waiting to catch up with your friends. Think of all the eye candy... :)

The past 7 years Out In The Park has been a huge success with over 1000 GLBT attendees for the first year in 1997! Now, it is getting harder to count us all each year, as there are so many of us.Ê In 2003, we counted between 2500-3000! there were probably a lot more.Ê In 2004, who knows how many? We are are anticipating over 10,000!

So, mark your calendars for
Sunday, September 19, 2004

What is a Q-Bot
and a FASTLANE PASS?

If you enjoy riding the most popular rides a lot, then you might want to consider obtaining a Q-Bot, so you can use the FASTLANE entrances of designated rides, like Superman, Batman and SCREAM.
After you enter the park, go to the Q-Bot / Fast Lane office and get a Q-Bot.

It does cost extra, but if you love riding the busiest, most thrilling rides, like Superman, The Cyclone, Batman, The Mind Eraser, SCREAM, and more, it will be worth it because you do not have to wait in line to get on a ride and you can ride multiple times. You do have to be at the ride at a park specified time. But, So worth it. It will make it easier for you to get on more rides, more times, and have more fun. Get there EARLY (like when the park opens)!
